Flower Symbolism: Gerbera Daisy and Dusty Miller
This is my “Beautiful Chaos” arrangement! The florist called it “wild” when she handed it to me, I thought, yea, it’s a little wild but at the root I felt, there is beauty in chaos. Sometimes things need to change in a way that seems to have no order or direction, at least from our perspective. Trust me, the change on this world has a purpose and a direction! Also, I was drawn to the color of the gerbera and the dusty miller. They describe the dusty miller as having a white coloring on the leaves, but I saw silver. Finally, the daisies are a coral color which I would associate with orange, but I also felt a strong pull to red and yellow, specifically because red and yellow make orange.

I felt this was profound, because shortly after purchasing this arrangement, I was watching a documentary that referenced Revelation 14:14-15
14 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
This quote refers to Jesus harvesting the righteous and the wicked.

DAISIES: have several meanings, but all lean to happiness. The Egyptian meaning of gerberas is closeness to nature and devotion to the sun. The Celts believed that the gerbera would lessen the sorrows and stresses of everyday life. Any type of daisy equals truth or happiness of children.
The symbolism of the gebera daisy is the simple beauty of a very happy life. Throughout history, the gerbera daisy has symbolized the innocent hearts of children, attributed to the WHITE gerbera, and, happiness and gratefulness for the life you have been given. The meaning is more energized then contentedness or mellowness. It is happiness that bubbles, fizzes and pops with joyous surprises. There is an energetic playfulness to these flowers, which is evident in all their radiant colors. These are not flowers for regrets. These flowers are a celebration of life!
